Competence for the Region


E.ON Thüringer Energie AG is the largest energy service industry in Thuringia. The history of this modern multi-utility enterprise situated in Erfurt goes back to October 2005 when TEAG Thüringer Energie AG and Gasversorgung Thüringen GmbH merged, supplying about 700,000 customers with electrical energy, natural gas and district heat – all under one roof. E.ON Energie AG owns 53 per cent in shares of E.ON Thüringer Energie AG, whereas almost 900 Thuringian communities own 47 per cent in these shares.

 

Close to the Customer


Customer loyalty and customer orientation are of central importance for E.ON Thüringer Energie. Providing an extensive network of area and customer support centres throughout Thuringia, the enterprise has the exclusive advantage of being able to react to their customers’ requirements at any time. 1,400 members of staff see that some 580,000 private households and business customers as well as some 3,800 large-scale and individual customers (industrial companies) can rely on being supplied with electrical energy at any time. Furthermore, they ensure that 110,000 private households and commercial customers as well as more than 1,000 special contract customers are being supplied with natural gas. In addition, E.ON Thüringer Energie is the pre-supplier of electrical energy and natural gas to 25 local utilities in Thuringia, Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt. The enterprise supplies their customers in Jena and Bad Salzungen with district heat.

Providing electrical energy and gas under one roof – this is what represents the products and services, tailored to the needs of our customers, as well as the widely diversified portfolio of the products of E.ON Thüringer Energie. The product offer ranges from different consumption-dependent pricing models for electrical energy and natural gas, required by private customers over drawing energy reports for municipal objects, providing services to optimise electrical mains and consumption as well as contracting, up to professional call-centre services. Comprehensive advisory and information service as well as reliability in the supply of electrical energy and natural gas are the central target of customer orientation of all our fitters and key-account managers. Furthermore, owning shares in Thüringer Netkom GmbH enables the enterprise to supply efficient broadband-communication-services as well.

 

Investor in Thuringia


Advanced and efficient technology ensures safe power supply. Since 1990 E.ON Thüringer Energie AG, as well as their antecedent companies have invested almost 4 billion Euros in the rebuilding and development of supply systems for electrical energy, natural gas and heat. During that period the majority of the 300,000 contracts was placed with regional companies. This makes the enterprise an important investor of Thuringia.

 

Partner of the Region


Being a future-oriented enterprise, deeply rooted in the region, E.ON Thüringer Energie AG does not only see its responsibility in a regional, reliable energy supply. Beyond the enterprise’s own demand, they have been offering a prestigious vocational training in popular commercial and trade professions for many years. At present, almost 340 trainees, among them a majority of apprentices from the Thüringer Stadtwerke (Thuringian municipal works) go through a training period at the modern training centre of E.ON Thüringer Energie AG in Erfurt.

 

Furthermore, the enterprise is used to pointing the way to the future in the promotion of social life. Being Thuringian’s most important sports sponsor, E.ON Thüringer Energie supports renowned front-rank winter-sport athletes as well as ball sports and track-and-field sports clubs. Hereby, the enterprise draws special attention to sponsoring the mass sports and young talents sports of the 170 Thuringian sports clubs. In addition, the enterprise is committed to engaging in selected cultural and local events.

 

History of the TEAG Thüringer Energie AG


The history of TEAG Thüringer Energie AG goes back to spring 1994, when the three then power-suppliers of the region, namely ENAG, OTEV and SEAG merged. The enterprise had its headquarters in the regional capital city of Erfurt. Their principal shareholder was E.ON Energie AG, then owning 72.65 per cent in shares, whereas Thuringian communities owned 27.35 per cent in shares.

 

The History of Gasversorgung Thüringen GmbH


The history of Gasversorgung Thüringen GmbH (ThüringenGas) goes back to 1995, when Ostthüringer Gasgesellschaft mbH and Südthüringer Gasgesellschaft mbH merged with Gasversorgung Nord-Thüringen GmbH. Owning 51 per cent in shares; Thuringian communities were the majority shareholders, whereas CONTIGAS Deutsche Energie-Aktiengesellschaft owned 49 per cent in shares.

 

Electrical Energy Sales


The electricity supply provided by E.ON Thüringer Energie in the financial year 2007 mounted to 9,326 giga-watt-hours, of which almost 14 per cent were supplied to customers beyond Thuringia.

 

Natural Gas Sales


Sales of natural gas supplied by E.ON Thüringer Energie mounted to 6,346 giga-watt-hours in the financial year 2007, of which almost 2 per cent were supplied to customers in Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt.

 

District Heat Sales


The sales of district heat supplied by E.ON Thüringer Energie AG mounted to 475 giga-watt-hours in the financial year 2007. This heat was generated in the thermal power stations in Jena and Bad Salzungen.
